October 31, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. On Monday there were 3719 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1813 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4484 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. REDIFF.COM INDIA LIMITED-ADR (NASDAQ:REDF), RENTECH INC (AMEX:RTK), BOSTON SCIENTIFIC CORP (NYSE:BSX), XILINX, INC. (NASDAQ:XLNX), SIFY TECHNOLOGIES-SPON ADR (NASDAQ:SIFY), ADOBE SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:ADBE). Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction REDF $3.420 45.06% 2,205,740 66.08% 1,103,291 33.05% 1,102,449 3,224 RTK $0.120 7.79% 2,568,513 42.02% 1,277,068 20.89% 1,291,445 107,620 BSX $0.020 0.34% 15,807,206 39.82% 9,035,855 22.76% 6,771,351 3,385,676 XLNX $0.400 1.21% 3,977,762 58.16% 2,847,515 41.64% 1,130,247 28,256 SIFY $2.390 61.76% 3,278,296 48.37% 2,575,570 38.00% 702,726 2,940 ADBE $0.390 1.34% 6,650,633 53.58% 5,468,917 44.06% 1,181,716 30,300Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows REDF with a Net Buy Volume of 1,102,449 shares and a Friction Factor of 3,224 shares. That means that it takes 3,224 more shares of buying than selling to move REDF higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
