October 26, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3757 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3953 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2043 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. MF GLOBAL HOLDINGS LTD (NYSE:MF), MICROSOFT CORP (NASDAQ:MSFT), THERMO FISHER SCIENTIFIC INC (NYSE:TMO), ORACLE CORP (NASDAQ:ORCL), HUMAN GENOME SCIENCES INC (NASDAQ:HGSI), (NASDAQ:QQQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     MF $-0.120 -6.45% 51,972,011 38.18% 39,372,630 28.92% 12,599,381 Abnormal
     MSFT $-0.290 -1.07% 36,432,650 56.43% 27,989,657 43.35% 8,442,993 Abnormal
     TMO $-4.840 -9.09% 5,197,696 31.28% 3,705,192 22.30% 1,492,504 Abnormal
     ORCL $-0.160 -0.49% 18,879,793 55.25% 15,203,562 44.50% 3,676,231 Abnormal
     HGSI $-2.860 -22.47% 13,727,869 53.86% 11,677,159 45.81% 2,050,710 Abnormal
     QQQ $-0.090 -0.16% 45,737,105 46.74% 39,386,426 40.25% 6,350,679 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Wednesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MF with 12,599,381 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.12000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
