Quebecor Media Formally Puts CBC/Radio-Canada on Notice to Remove False and Defamatory Information

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 21, 2011) - Quebecor Media Inc. has today sent a formal letter of notice to CBC/Radio-Canada demanding that it immediately remove from its web site a text titled "What Quebecor won't tell you about its attacks on the public broadcaster" and a document titled "Examining Quebecor Media's Free Market Message".

Quebecor Media considers the information published on these pages to be false and defamatory and published maliciously, without prior verification, in order to interfere with the testimony of Quebecor Media's CEO in front of the House of Commons' Standing committee on access to information, privacy and ethics. Furthermore, Quebecor Media believes that this information, alleging that it is hiding information from the public or being less than truthful in its reporting or public statements, was published with the clear intent of tarnishing its reputation.

In addition to the immediate removal of this information, CBC/Radio-Canada is put on notice to publish on its web site an apology and the press release put out by Quebecor Media on October 19 2011 to set the record straight.

A copy of the letter of notice is attached to this press release.
