October 6, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3908 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4755 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1579 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. TANDY BRANDS ACCESSORIES INC (NASDAQ:TBAC), SANGAMO BIOSCIENCES, INC. (NASDAQ:SGMO), BIODELIVERY SCIENCES INTL (NASDAQ:BDSI), WONDER AUTO TECHNOLOGY INC (OTC:WATG), GLG LIFE TECH CORP (NASDAQ:GLGL), FEDERAL NATIONAL MORTGAGE ASSOCI (OTC:FNMAS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     TBAC $-0.080 -7.48% 26,687 46.26% 30,999 53.74% -4,312 -539
     SGMO $-0.250 -7.25% 457,537 49.43% 466,561 50.40% -9,024 -361
     BDSI $-0.070 -6.54% 226,627 39.50% 347,135 60.50% -120,508 -17,215
     WATG $-0.130 -9.63% 54,508 33.42% 97,146 59.57% -42,638 -3,280
     GLGL $-1.460 -42.40% 403,959 40.15% 602,126 59.85% -198,167 -1,357
     FNMAS $-0.200 -11.43% 90,674 34.28% 173,798 65.72% -83,124 -4,156
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows TBAC with a dollar loss Thursday of $-0.08000 and a Friction Factor of -539 shares. That means that it only took 539 more shares of selling than buying to move TBAC lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
