Market Maker Surveillance Report. AVL, GNRC, SAGE, ZN, BORN, MKRYF, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Monday, Sept
September 26, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4471 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3152 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3014 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. AVALON RARE METALS INC (AMEX:AVL), GENERAC HOLDINGS INC (NYSE:GNRC), SOLOMON ALLIANCE (OTC:SAGE), ZION OIL & GAS INC (NASDAQ:ZN), CHINA NEW BORUN CORP-ADR (NYSE:BORN), (OTC:MKRYF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction AVL $0.440 16.12% 738,765 33.44% 634,230 28.71% 104,535 2,376 GNRC $3.020 19.40% 92,244 32.35% 72,439 25.40% 19,805 66 SAGE $0.210 20.39% 105,476 72.15% 25,935 17.74% 79,541 3,788 ZN $0.780 46.71% 723,482 60.80% 458,096 38.50% 265,386 3,402 BORN $0.730 23.93% 121,133 43.65% 80,243 28.92% 40,890 560 MKRYF $0.248 18.76% 47,000 48.50% 38,800 40.04% 8,200 331Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows AVL with a dollar gain Monday of $0.44000 and a Friction Factor of 2,376 shares. That means that it only took 2,376 more shares of buying than selling to move AVL higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
