September 23, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 4527 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3003 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3034 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. DELL INC (NASDAQ:DELL), GLOBAL INDUSTRIES LTD (NASDAQ:GLBL), CISCO SYSTEMS INCORPORATED (NASDAQ:CSCO), INTEL CORP (NASDAQ:INTC), FORTRESS INVESTMENT GRP-CL A (NYSE:FIG), (NASDAQ:QQQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     DELL $0.400 2.86% 9,378,348 44.34% 11,700,966 55.32% -2,322,618 Abnormal
     GLBL $0.010 0.13% 2,432,287 34.16% 4,679,358 65.72% -2,247,071 Abnormal
     CSCO $0.280 1.83% 29,545,602 44.70% 38,379,323 58.07% -8,833,721 Abnormal
     INTC $0.520 2.38% 33,783,102 45.57% 41,973,213 56.62% -8,190,111 Abnormal
     FIG $0.110 3.55% 370,533 12.98% 2,242,960 78.58% -1,872,427 Abnormal
     QQQ $0.500 0.93% 40,806,508 47.49% 42,856,937 49.88% -2,050,429 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Friday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DELL with 2,322,618 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.40000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
