September 16, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 4306 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3326 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2826 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Friday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. KEPPEL LAND LTD (OTC:KPPLF), SINOCOKING COAL AND COKE CHE (NASDAQ:SCOK), USA TECHNOLOGIES INC (NASDAQ:USAT), WONDER AUTO TECHNOLOGY INC (OTC:WATG), IMPERIAL PETROLEUM INC (OTC:IPMN), CHINA MING YANG WIND POW-ADS (NYSE:MY). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     KPPLF $-0.570 -18.04% 83,573 34.98% 109,520 45.84% -25,947 -455
     SCOK $-0.990 -21.06% 136,904 37.90% 215,769 59.73% -78,865 -797
     USAT $-0.330 -13.74% 673,724 42.64% 905,824 57.33% -232,100 -7,033
     WATG $-0.250 -14.29% 330,751 40.68% 334,755 41.17% -4,004 -160
     IPMN $-0.400 -28.57% 80,784 19.90% 134,302 33.08% -53,518 -1,338
     MY $-0.470 -14.11% 110,037 21.21% 237,766 45.84% -127,729 -2,718
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows KPPLF with a dollar loss Friday of $-0.57000 and a Friction Factor of -455 shares. That means that it only took 455 more shares of selling than buying to move KPPLF lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
