Market Maker Surveillance Report. ENMD, BTH, XRA, GRO, GU, ONRGF, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Tuesday, Septe
September 6, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4768 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1616 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4456 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. ENTREMED INC (NASDAQ:ENMD), BLYTH INC (NYSE:BTH), EXETER RESOURCE CORP (AMEX:XRA), AGRIA CORP - ADR (NYSE:GRO), GUSHAN ENVIRONMENTAL ENE-ADR (NYSE:GU), OPEN RANGE ENERGY CORP (OTC:ONRGF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction ENMD $0.340 20.48% 134,401 60.09% 89,076 39.82% 45,325 1,333 BTH $11.730 22.10% 126,881 33.83% 123,986 33.06% 2,895 2 XRA $0.740 16.30% 644,249 31.26% 564,742 27.40% 79,507 1,074 GRO $0.400 26.85% 667,028 28.93% 634,062 27.50% 32,966 824 GU $0.330 18.54% 51,229 32.04% 32,650 20.42% 18,579 563 ONRGF $2.586 39.97% 46,800 37.35% 43,100 34.40% 3,700 14Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows ENMD with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.34000 and a Friction Factor of 1,333 shares. That means that it only took 1,333 more shares of buying than selling to move ENMD higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
