August 23, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3686 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4942 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2006 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. RENTRAK CORP (NASDAQ:RENT), ROSETTA GENOMICS LTD (NASDAQ:ROSG), ANTHERA PHARMACEUTICALS INC (NASDAQ:ANTH), DYNAVOX INC-CLASS A (NASDAQ:DVOX), AMPIO PHARMACEUTICALS INC (OTC:AMPE), CVD EQUIPMENT CORP (NASDAQ:CVV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     RENT $2.760 23.96% 55,435 60.79% 35,458 38.88% 19,977 72
     ROSG $0.210 18.47% 38,008 51.15% 36,296 48.85% 1,712 82
     ANTH $1.110 22.24% 103,761 66.12% 53,056 33.81% 50,705 457
     DVOX $0.940 18.88% 34,711 53.62% 29,624 45.76% 5,087 54
     AMPE $1.860 36.05% 83,192 65.11% 38,894 30.44% 44,298 238
     CVV $2.610 20.52% 149,257 58.23% 101,778 39.71% 47,479 182
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows RENT with a dollar gain Tuesday of $2.76000 and a Friction Factor of 72 shares. That means that it only took 72 more shares of buying than selling to move RENT higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
