August 22, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4239 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2869 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3573 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. UNIVERSAL DISPLAY CORP (NASDAQ:PANL), BONA FILM GROUP LTD-SPON ADR (NASDAQ:BONA), VESTIN REALTY MORTGAGE II (NASDAQ:VRTB), E-HOUSE CHINA HOLDINGS-ADS (NYSE:EJ), NEW ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES INC (OTC:NENE), GOLDEN MINERALS CO (AMEX:AUMN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     PANL $6.590 23.60% 2,590,266 52.53% 2,319,746 47.04% 270,520 411
     BONA $0.520 13.68% 140,332 69.55% 61,347 30.40% 78,985 1,519
     VRTB $0.230 20.35% 113,814 76.35% 35,262 23.65% 78,552 3,415
     EJ $0.720 11.65% 319,329 39.00% 309,695 37.83% 9,634 134
     NENE $0.350 21.87% 63,466 44.24% 38,957 27.16% 24,509 700
     AUMN $1.610 13.90% 55,875 32.91% 37,026 21.81% 18,849 117
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PANL with a dollar gain Monday of $6.59000 and a Friction Factor of 411 shares. That means that it only took 411 more shares of buying than selling to move PANL higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
