August 19, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 4177 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1785 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4459 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. DELL INC (NASDAQ:DELL), WARNER CHILCOTT PLC-CLASS A (NASDAQ:WCRX), MERCK & CO. INC. (NYSE:MRK), BROCADE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS, INC. (NASDAQ:BRCD), BRISTOL-MYERS SQUIBB CO (NYSE:BMY), NV ENERGY INC (NYSE:NVE). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     DELL $0.240 1.74% 20,403,424 40.23% 30,892,838 60.91% -10,489,414 Abnormal
     WCRX $0.010 0.06% 1,748,436 33.57% 3,457,749 66.39% -1,709,313 Abnormal
     MRK $0.180 0.58% 3,922,725 19.13% 4,796,825 23.40% -874,100 Abnormal
     BRCD $0.100 3.01% 6,235,108 34.13% 11,983,006 65.59% -5,747,898 Abnormal
     BMY $0.030 0.11% 3,133,509 19.52% 4,908,744 30.58% -1,775,235 Abnormal
     NVE $0.160 1.12% 2,174,236 28.62% 3,611,763 47.54% -1,437,527 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Friday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DELL with 10,489,414 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.24000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
