August 18, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3630 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1092 companies with positive Friction Factors and 6175 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. RIT TECHNOLOGIES LTD (NASDAQ:RITT), AC MOORE ARTS & CRAFTS INC (NASDAQ:ACMR), OXYGEN BIOTHERAPEUTICS INC (OTC:OXBT), AEROFLEX HOLDING CORP (NYSE:ARX), (OTC:BORK), (NASDAQ:TUDO). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     RITT $-1.060 -21.46% 28,054 31.71% 52,625 59.48% -24,571 -232
     ACMR $-0.260 -17.45% 28,225 36.60% 48,895 63.40% -20,670 -795
     OXBT $-0.760 -25.33% 125,687 41.12% 179,948 58.88% -54,261 -714
     ARX $-2.220 -22.42% 348,595 29.24% 387,249 32.49% -38,654 -174
     BORK $-0.580 -21.56% 47,477 13.09% 115,874 31.95% -68,397 -1,179
     TUDO $-4.560 -17.84% 745,558 44.65% 796,036 47.67% -50,478 -111
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows RITT with a dollar loss Thursday of $-1.06000 and a Friction Factor of -232 shares. That means that it only took 232 more shares of selling than buying to move RITT lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
