August 17, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4288 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3059 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3025 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. MARSHALL EDWARDS INC (NASDAQ:MSHL), GENTIUM SPA-SPONSORED ADR (NASDAQ:GENT), TAO MINERALS LTD (NYSE:TAOM), Lehman Brothers Fin Sa Depositary (OTC:LEHJQ), TRAVELZOO INC (NASDAQ:TZOO), EXCEED CO LTD (NYSE:EDS). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     MSHL $-0.350 -18.32% 582,642 44.82% 717,450 55.18% -134,808 -3,852
     GENT $-2.670 -29.77% 198,560 45.95% 233,441 54.02% -34,881 -131
     TAOM $-3.060 -23.45% 370,035 30.13% 446,654 36.37% -76,619 -250
     LEHJQ $-0.018 -63.93% 50,000 32.87% 102,100 67.13% -52,100 -29,106
     TZOO $-5.150 -12.38% 1,022,757 46.23% 1,163,004 52.57% -140,247 -272
     EDS $-0.790 -18.54% 39,342 40.94% 56,765 59.06% -17,423 -221
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MSHL with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-0.35000 and a Friction Factor of -3,852 shares. That means that it only took 3,852 more shares of selling than buying to move MSHL lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
