August 15, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3963 companies with "abnormal" market making, 5230 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1731 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. LOCATION BASED TECHNOLOGIES (OTCBB:LBAS), CHINA XD PLASTICS CO LTD (NASDAQ:CXDC), SHENGKAI INNOVATIONS INC (NASDAQ:VALV), PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCT DEVEL (NASDAQ:PPDI), NETLIST INC (NASDAQ:NLST), SOLOMON GOLD CORP (NASDAQ:SGOC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     LBAS $0.308 31.05% 2,365,780 53.27% 1,752,327 39.46% 613,453 19,917
     CXDC $1.290 38.86% 487,141 54.69% 398,866 44.78% 88,275 684
     VALV $0.570 35.19% 838,001 57.36% 619,763 42.42% 218,238 3,829
     PPDI $6.540 24.59% 2,154,068 52.35% 1,807,717 43.93% 346,351 530
     NLST $0.410 29.29% 168,401 62.70% 97,193 36.19% 71,208 1,737
     SGOC $1.440 51.25% 52,996 61.50% 32,870 38.15% 20,126 140
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows LBAS with a dollar gain Monday of $0.30800 and a Friction Factor of 19,917 shares. That means that it only took 19,917 more shares of buying than selling to move LBAS higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
