August 11, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3804 companies with "abnormal" market making, 5370 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1818 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. SKYSTAR BIO-PHARMACEUTICAL (NASDAQ:SKBI), TEARLAB CORP (NASDAQ:TEAR), PROSHARES ULTRAPRO SHORT QQQ (NASDAQ:SQQQ), CHINA JO-JO DRUGSTORES INC (NASDAQ:CJJD), (OTCBB:RYUN), INTRICON CORP (NASDAQ:IIN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     SKBI $-0.690 -18.70% 120,265 45.65% 142,191 53.97% -21,926 -318
     TEAR $-0.180 -11.26% 29,152 40.81% 39,783 55.69% -10,631 -591
     SQQQ $-3.760 -11.74% 1,217,541 49.28% 1,248,396 50.53% -30,855 -82
     CJJD $-0.200 -16.26% 188,880 47.80% 206,245 52.20% -17,365 -868
     RYUN $-0.180 -15.00% 48,310 19.10% 174,040 68.81% -125,730 -6,985
     IIN $-0.340 -9.19% 29,003 52.14% 33,093 59.50% -4,090 -120
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SKBI with a dollar loss Thursday of $-0.69000 and a Friction Factor of -318 shares. That means that it only took 318 more shares of selling than buying to move SKBI lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
