August 10, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4454 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2128 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4406 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. LITHIUM EXPLORATION GROUP IN (OTCBB:LEXG), TOREADOR RESOURCES CORP (NASDAQ:TRGL), SOUTHERN ARC MINERALS INC (OTC:SOACF), ORSUS XELENT TECHNOLOGIES IN (AMEX:ORS), TRANSATLANTIC PETROLEUM LTD (AMEX:TAT), TASMAN METALS LTD (OTC:TASXF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction LEXG $0.200 18.18% 192,838 44.74% 105,972 24.58% 86,866 4,343 TRGL $0.480 16.44% 537,281 53.78% 459,772 46.02% 77,509 1,615 SOACF $0.272 29.10% 56,450 51.58% 46,600 42.58% 9,850 362 ORS $0.430 22.88% 76,353 44.55% 53,819 31.40% 22,534 524 TAT $0.220 27.16% 1,509,927 37.76% 1,105,966 27.66% 403,961 18,362 TASXF $0.570 17.54% 55,830 52.23% 31,762 29.71% 24,068 422Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows LEXG with a dollar gain Wednesday of $0.20000 and a Friction Factor of 4,343 shares. That means that it only took 4,343 more shares of buying than selling to move LEXG higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
