August 10, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4454 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2128 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4406 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. EDUCATION MANAGEMENT CORP (NASDAQ:EDMC), UNITED MICROELECTRON-SP ADR (NYSE:UMC), CAPITAL ONE FINANCIAL CORP (NYSE:COF), TELEKOM AUSTRIA AG (OTC:TKMAF), VALCOM INC (OTC:VLCO), BIOHEART INC (NASDAQ:BHRT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     EDMC $0.310 1.84% 817,484 82.69% 168,635 17.06% 648,849 20,931
     UMC $0.020 1.01% 2,778,337 49.08% 1,428,220 25.23% 1,350,117 675,059
     COF $0.820 2.01% 5,151,862 26.06% 4,562,195 23.08% 589,667 7,191
     TKMAF $0.040 0.29% 21,025,000 65.65% 11,000,000 34.35% 10,025,000 2,506,250
     VLCO $0.012 21.82% 1,845,380 58.37% 1,121,430 35.47% 723,950 603,292
     BHRT $0.029 40.28% 2,039,320 65.09% 1,093,541 34.91% 945,779 326,131
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EDMC with a Net Buy Volume of 648,849 shares and a Friction Factor of 20,931 shares. That means that it takes 20,931 more shares of buying than selling to move EDMC higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
