August 8, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3548 companies with "abnormal" market making, 775 companies with positive Friction Factors and 7602 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. NEVSUN RESOURCES LTD (AMEX:NSU), BALLANTYNE STRONG INC (AMEX:BTN), GENERAL FINANCE CORP (NASDAQ:GFN), HOLLYSYS AUTOMATION TECHNOLO (NASDAQ:HOLI), PROSHARES ULTRAPRO SHORT QQQ (NASDAQ:SQQQ), BROADSOFT INC (NASDAQ:BSFT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     NSU $0.280 5.29% 230,754 28.37% 224,059 27.55% 6,695 239
     BTN $0.330 10.09% 113,095 37.27% 105,126 34.65% 7,969 241
     GFN $0.740 27.82% 79,633 54.97% 37,286 25.74% 42,347 572
     HOLI $0.280 4.86% 1,040,887 54.73% 857,184 45.07% 183,703 6,561
     SQQQ $4.860 17.08% 2,650,987 49.56% 2,613,969 48.87% 37,018 76
     BSFT $2.300 9.70% 3,081,066 54.11% 2,562,497 45.01% 518,569 2,255
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows NSU with a dollar gain Monday of $0.28000 and a Friction Factor of 239 shares. That means that it only took 239 more shares of buying than selling to move NSU higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
