Its products consist principally of instrumentation, computer controls, communications, and data management systems to control and manage critical processes. The company also provides electrical and instrumentation construction and maintenance services, as well as manufactures switchgear and related products, primarily serving the oil and gas industry in western Canada. Powell Industries has operations in Europe, the Far East, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as North, Central, and South America. The company was founded in 1947 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
