August 3, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4485 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2841 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3640 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. SMITH MICRO SOFTWARE INC (NASDAQ:SMSI), KFORCE INC. (NASDAQ:KFRC), CHINA-BIOTICS INC (OTC:CHBT), SEVEN ARTS PICTURES PLC (NASDAQ:SAPX), KRATON PERFORMANCE POLYMERS (NYSE:KRA), EXAMWORKS GROUP INC (NYSE:EXAM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     SMSI $-0.850 -25.53% 883,692 46.80% 997,918 52.85% -114,226 -1,344
     KFRC $-4.210 -32.51% 1,625,836 48.88% 1,676,975 50.42% -51,139 -121
     CHBT $-0.810 -23.08% 39,887 18.80% 60,924 28.72% -21,037 -260
     SAPX $-0.290 -16.12% 428,742 48.02% 464,057 51.98% -35,315 -1,218
     KRA $-10.770 -31.02% 1,112,577 26.68% 1,279,370 30.67% -166,793 -155
     EXAM $-6.660 -31.50% 1,803,672 31.27% 1,952,833 33.85% -149,161 -224
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SMSI with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-0.85000 and a Friction Factor of -1,344 shares. That means that it only took 1,344 more shares of selling than buying to move SMSI lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
