August 2, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3744 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1824 companies with positive Friction Factors and 5303 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. VSE CORP (NASDAQ:VSEC), RADIAN GROUP INC (NYSE:RDN), INTERPHASE CORP (NASDAQ:INPH), SYNCHRONOSS TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (NASDAQ:SNCR), HIGHPOWER INTERNATIONAL INC (NASDAQ:HPJ), JAMMIN JAVA CORP (OTC:JAMN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     VSEC $3.350 14.27% 34,441 57.32% 25,643 42.68% 8,798 26
     RDN $0.470 15.26% 6,346,574 35.52% 6,033,997 33.77% 312,577 6,651
     INPH $1.110 23.27% 176,021 58.06% 124,866 41.19% 51,155 461
     SNCR $6.240 21.69% 1,344,929 54.46% 1,132,556 45.86% 212,373 340
     HPJ $0.340 16.73% 47,026 58.03% 27,305 33.70% 19,721 580
     JAMN $0.550 84.62% 3,463,378 49.30% 2,569,041 36.57% 894,337 16,261
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows VSEC with a dollar gain Tuesday of $3.35000 and a Friction Factor of 26 shares. That means that it only took 26 more shares of buying than selling to move VSEC higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
