July 27, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3507 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1650 companies with positive Friction Factors and 6163 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. CONOCOPHILLIPS (NYSE:COP), TELEKOM AUSTRIA AG (OTC:TKMAF), WASHINGTON MUTUAL INC (OTC:WAMUQ), SALAMON GROUP INC (OTC:SLMU), Worldsage Inc. (OTCBB:WSGI), (:DNKN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction COP $0.040 0.05% 3,284,881 32.54% 2,421,703 23.99% 863,178 215,795 TKMAF $0.040 0.29% 21,025,000 65.65% 11,000,000 34.35% 10,025,000 2,506,250 WAMUQ $0.018 20.61% 6,686,394 62.50% 3,990,889 37.30% 2,695,505 1,481,047 SLMU $0.060 85.71% 710,384 76.19% 222,042 23.81% 488,342 81,390 WSGI $0.016 16.16% 1,375,761 68.90% 621,086 31.10% 754,675 471,672 DNKN $9.020 47.47% 29,768,655 65.59% 18,670,591 41.13% 11,098,064 12,304Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows COP with a Net Buy Volume of 863,178 shares and a Friction Factor of 215,795 shares. That means that it takes 215,795 more shares of buying than selling to move COP higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
