July 26, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4108 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2577 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3993 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), DRYSHIPS INC (NASDAQ:DRYS), NVIDIA CORPORATION (NASDAQ:NVDA), WEYERHAEUSER CO (NYSE:WY), PACCAR INC (NASDAQ:PCAR), AK STEEL HOLDING CORP (NYSE:AKS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     BAC $-0.010 -0.10% 47,669,855 39.83% 36,823,610 30.76% 10,846,245 Abnormal
     DRYS $-0.060 -1.57% 9,647,738 51.53% 8,792,115 46.96% 855,623 Abnormal
     NVDA $-0.360 -2.47% 9,494,090 54.71% 7,852,461 45.25% 1,641,629 Abnormal
     WY $-0.640 -3.01% 4,290,509 34.77% 3,152,625 25.55% 1,137,884 Abnormal
     PCAR $-5.130 -10.17% 5,869,052 53.42% 4,972,198 45.26% 896,854 Abnormal
     AKS $-2.710 -17.46% 17,469,743 36.86% 15,725,231 33.18% 1,744,512 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Tuesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BAC with 10,846,245 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.01000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
