July 13, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4099 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4003 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2413 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. NORTH AMER PALLADIUM LTD (AMEX:PAL), CLOUDBREAK RESOURCES (OTC:CUDBF), FREQUENCY ELECTRONICS INC (NASDAQ:FEIM), PROLOR BIOTECH INC (AMEX:PBTH), KINGOLD JEWELRY INC (NASDAQ:KGJI), SHENGKAI INNOVATIONS INC (NASDAQ:VALV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction PAL $0.750 18.99% 2,373,787 28.67% 2,271,150 27.43% 102,637 1,368 CUDBF $0.384 28.74% 122,700 63.28% 50,500 26.04% 72,200 1,880 FEIM $1.930 20.82% 47,037 54.05% 39,983 45.95% 7,054 37 PBTH $0.970 19.25% 170,998 36.82% 90,981 19.59% 80,017 825 KGJI $0.410 25.31% 498,290 58.71% 349,111 41.13% 149,179 3,639 VALV $0.710 48.30% 1,223,194 52.07% 1,125,229 47.90% 97,965 1,380Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows PAL with a dollar gain Wednesday of $0.75000 and a Friction Factor of 1,368 shares. That means that it only took 1,368 more shares of buying than selling to move PAL higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
