July 8, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 4303 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2375 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3998 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Friday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. ENCORE CAPITAL GROUP INC (NASDAQ:ECPG), CHINANET ONLINE HOLDINGS INC (AMEX:CNET), TRANSCEPT PHARMACEUTICALS IN (NASDAQ:TSPT), SYNTHESIS ENERGY SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:SYMX), YELLOW MEDIA INC (OTC:YLWPF), AEROFLEX HOLDING CORP (NYSE:ARX). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     ECPG $-4.660 -14.93% 679,931 48.26% 709,677 50.37% -29,746 -64
     CNET $-0.310 -11.92% 115,820 48.76% 118,454 49.87% -2,634 -85
     TSPT $-0.960 -10.57% 223,634 42.40% 302,678 57.39% -79,044 -823
     SYMX $-0.280 -11.11% 222,017 41.75% 307,081 57.74% -85,064 -3,038
     YLWPF $-0.340 -11.97% 65,288 23.56% 149,024 53.79% -83,736 -2,463
     ARX $-3.290 -17.60% 456,745 24.63% 804,181 43.37% -347,436 -1,056
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ECPG with a dollar loss Friday of $-4.66000 and a Friction Factor of -64 shares. That means that it only took 64 more shares of selling than buying to move ECPG lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
