July 8, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 4303 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2375 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3998 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Friday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. CHIMERA INVESTMENT CORP (NYSE:CIM), SEAGATE TECHNOLOGY (NASDAQ:STX), MARINA BIOTECH INC (NASDAQ:MRNA), TELEKOM AUSTRIA AG (OTC:TKMAF), SOLIGENIX INC (OTC:SNGX), (OTC:BGPIQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     CIM $0.060 1.73% 5,128,757 51.61% 2,950,376 29.69% 2,178,381 363,064
     STX $0.340 2.04% 5,611,362 61.19% 3,547,471 38.68% 2,063,891 60,703
     MRNA $0.065 35.14% 18,170,156 55.62% 14,531,714 44.48% 3,638,442 559,760
     TKMAF $0.040 0.29% 21,025,000 65.65% 11,000,000 34.35% 10,025,000 2,506,250
     SNGX $0.040 15.38% 3,226,011 60.57% 1,956,626 36.74% 1,269,385 317,346
     BGPIQ $0.036 52.61% 4,981,317 55.14% 3,955,986 43.79% 1,025,331 282,460
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CIM with a Net Buy Volume of 2,178,381 shares and a Friction Factor of 363,064 shares. That means that it takes 363,064 more shares of buying than selling to move CIM higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Friday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
