July 6, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4289 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3514 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2951 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO (NYSE:GE), SPRINT NEXTEL CORP (NYSE:S), CBS CORP-CLASS B NON VOTING (NYSE:CBS), DAIWA SECURITIES GR-SPON ADR (OTC:DSEEY), (NASDAQ:QQQ), (NASDAQ:GCVRZ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     GE $0.010 0.05% 8,950,863 28.34% 10,187,226 32.26% -1,236,363 Abnormal
     S $0.250 4.64% 14,205,888 23.96% 20,388,407 34.39% -6,182,519 Abnormal
     CBS $0.060 0.21% 3,250,735 29.30% 4,382,920 39.50% -1,132,185 Abnormal
     DSEEY $0.010 0.22% 175,590 4.34% 3,866,876 95.54% -3,691,286 Abnormal
     QQQ $0.260 0.45% 21,226,960 43.08% 24,936,887 50.61% -3,709,927 Abnormal
     GCVRZ $0.050 2.04% 1,960,297 37.59% 3,245,128 62.22% -1,284,831 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Wednesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows GE with 1,236,363 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.01000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
