July 6, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4289 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3514 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2951 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. ALTAIR NANOTECHNOLOGIES INC (NASDAQ:ALTI), SKY-MOBI LTD-SP ADR (NASDAQ:MOBI), PMI GROUP INC/THE (NYSE:PMI), TORCH ENERGY ROYALTY TRUST (NYSE:TRU), INDEPENDENT BANK CORP - MICH (NASDAQ:IBCP), SYNTHESIS ENERGY SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:SYMX). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     ALTI $0.290 30.16% 293,252 60.93% 188,050 39.07% 105,202 3,628
     MOBI $2.000 24.72% 1,400,531 56.62% 1,062,985 42.98% 337,546 1,688
     PMI $0.320 27.59% 8,023,760 34.59% 7,986,028 34.43% 37,732 1,179
     TRU $0.530 33.12% 38,698 39.04% 29,040 29.30% 9,658 182
     IBCP $0.610 30.05% 267,801 59.73% 177,843 39.67% 89,958 1,475
     SYMX $0.570 30.48% 590,139 60.01% 393,224 39.98% 196,915 3,455
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ALTI with a dollar gain Wednesday of $0.29000 and a Friction Factor of 3,628 shares. That means that it only took 3,628 more shares of buying than selling to move ALTI higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
