July 5, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4258 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3375 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3112 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. PFIZER INC (NYSE:PFE), IMMUCOR INC (NASDAQ:BLUD), MICROSOFT CORP (NASDAQ:MSFT), FORD MOTOR CO (NYSE:F), ORACLE CORP (NASDAQ:ORCL), AKORN INC (NASDAQ:AKRX). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     PFE $0.020 0.10% 7,800,901 25.00% 10,404,375 33.35% -2,603,474 Abnormal
     BLUD $6.260 30.20% 10,655,067 45.00% 13,016,305 54.97% -2,361,238 Abnormal
     MSFT $0.010 0.04% 18,057,175 47.85% 21,009,193 55.68% -2,952,018 Abnormal
     F $0.080 0.57% 13,713,616 29.23% 15,219,266 32.44% -1,505,650 Abnormal
     ORCL $0.010 0.03% 10,021,328 46.76% 12,261,146 57.21% -2,239,818 Abnormal
     AKRX $0.340 4.93% 837,631 56.50% 2,243,589 151.34% -1,405,958 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Tuesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PFE with 2,603,474 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.02000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
