June 30, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4143 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4491 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2234 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. RIT TECHNOLOGIES LTD (NASDAQ:RITT), POLYMET MINING CORP (AMEX:PLM), LEADING BRANDS INC (NASDAQ:LBIX), CALAMP CORP (NASDAQ:CAMP), TBS INTERNATIONAL PLC-A (NASDAQ:TBSI), MEDICINOVA INC (NASDAQ:MNOV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     RITT $2.370 34.75% 852,116 53.81% 721,885 45.59% 130,231 549
     PLM $0.290 21.48% 354,133 45.73% 194,434 25.11% 159,699 5,507
     LBIX $0.970 39.59% 471,138 53.94% 388,613 44.49% 82,525 851
     CAMP $0.720 24.16% 84,413 63.19% 48,971 36.66% 35,442 492
     TBSI $0.390 27.08% 240,237 53.30% 204,343 45.33% 35,894 920
     MNOV $0.490 22.27% 102,036 62.61% 60,838 37.33% 41,198 841
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows RITT with a dollar gain Thursday of $2.37000 and a Friction Factor of 549 shares. That means that it only took 549 more shares of buying than selling to move RITT higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
