Market Maker Surveillance Report. HRBN, CFI, GRZ, GENE, GNMK, PRMW, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Friday, June
June 17, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 4571 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3456 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2893 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. HARBIN ELECTRIC INC (NASDAQ:HRBN), CULP INC (NYSE:CFI), GOLD RESERVE INC (AMEX:GRZ), GENETIC TECH LTD-SP ADR (NASDAQ:GENE), GENMARK DIAGNOSTICS INC (NASDAQ:GNMK), PRIMO WATER CORP (NASDAQ:PRMW). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction HRBN $1.360 19.45% 3,223,454 48.55% 3,166,383 47.69% 57,071 420 CFI $0.860 11.20% 41,376 25.71% 37,141 23.08% 4,235 49 GRZ $0.350 13.46% 132,955 29.67% 95,618 21.34% 37,337 1,067 GENE $0.750 15.24% 207,510 52.66% 185,916 47.18% 21,594 288 GNMK $1.700 39.35% 706,187 48.89% 654,150 45.29% 52,037 306 PRMW $1.780 15.82% 1,175,638 53.70% 862,823 39.41% 312,815 1,757Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows HRBN with a dollar gain Friday of $1.36000 and a Friction Factor of 420 shares. That means that it only took 420 more shares of buying than selling to move HRBN higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
