June 15, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4151 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1625 companies with positive Friction Factors and 5334 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. CYBERONICS INC (NASDAQ:CYBX), ON TRACK INNOVATI (NASDAQ:OTIV), KNIGHTSBRIDGE TANKERS LTD (NASDAQ:VLCCF), BLACKROCK, INCORPORATION (NYSE:BLK), OPNEXT INC (NASDAQ:OPXT), LEXICON PHARMACEUTICALS INC (NASDAQ:LXRX). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     CYBX $-1.110 -4.15% 75,830 39.75% 114,819 60.19% -38,989 -351
     OTIV $-0.090 -4.00% 27,357 31.20% 60,334 68.80% -32,977 -3,664
     VLCCF $-0.700 -3.28% 60,386 39.98% 90,673 60.02% -30,287 -433
     BLK $-6.240 -3.24% 194,876 23.89% 201,670 24.73% -6,794 -11
     OPXT $-0.140 -6.34% 583,254 42.56% 787,297 57.44% -204,043 -14,575
     LXRX $-0.070 -4.43% 154,507 33.36% 311,775 67.31% -157,268 -22,467
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CYBX with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-1.11000 and a Friction Factor of -351 shares. That means that it only took 351 more shares of selling than buying to move CYBX lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
