May 31, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 2756 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3395 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1635 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. SKYPEOPLE FRUIT JUICE INC (AMEX:SPU), CHINA PRECISION STEEL INC (NASDAQ:CPSL), CLEVELAND BIOLABS INC (NASDAQ:CBLI), TRANSITION THERAPEUTICS INC (NASDAQ:TTHI), UR-ENERGY INC (AMEX:URG), CHINA VALVES TECHNOLOGY INC (NASDAQ:CVVT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     SPU $-0.260 -9.25% 261,940 43.96% 333,855 56.04% -71,915 -2,766
     CPSL $-0.120 -9.23% 99,420 13.90% 615,945 86.10% -516,525 -43,044
     CBLI $-0.910 -16.98% 602,029 39.37% 771,261 50.44% -169,232 -1,860
     TTHI $-0.630 -16.84% 152,310 38.83% 239,911 61.17% -87,601 -1,390
     URG $-0.150 -8.33% 547,063 36.54% 635,336 42.44% -88,273 -5,885
     CVVT $-0.300 -9.38% 416,011 24.87% 1,241,859 74.24% -825,848 -27,528
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SPU with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-0.26000 and a Friction Factor of -2,766 shares. That means that it only took 2,766 more shares of selling than buying to move SPU lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
