May 27, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2546 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3140 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1621 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Friday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. NEOMEDIA TECHNOLOGIES INC (OTCBB:NEOM), SPDR S&P 500 ETF TRUST (NYSE:SPY), BANK OF AMERICA CORP (NYSE:BAC), SIRIUS XM RADIO INC (NASDAQ:SIRI), ISHARES MSCI JAPAN INDEX FD (NYSE:EWJ), MICROSOFT CORP (NASDAQ:MSFT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     NEOM $0.151 274.55% 43,906,282 53.15% 35,931,304 43.50% 7,974,978 528,144
     SPY $0.490 0.37% 34,286,677 28.36% 28,048,455 23.20% 6,238,222 127,311
     BAC $0.240 2.09% 36,473,841 34.00% 31,562,741 29.43% 4,911,100 204,629
     SIRI $0.020 0.85% 22,959,016 56.95% 17,307,599 42.93% 5,651,417 2,825,709
     EWJ $0.030 0.30% 16,137,544 43.31% 12,925,289 34.69% 3,212,255 1,070,752
     MSFT $0.120 0.49% 27,570,467 54.86% 23,642,550 47.05% 3,927,917 327,326
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows NEOM with a Net Buy Volume of 7,974,978 shares and a Friction Factor of 528,144 shares. That means that it takes 528,144 more shares of buying than selling to move NEOM higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Friday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
