May 27, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2546 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3140 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1621 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. DELTA AIR LINES INC (NYSE:DAL), COMCAST CORP-CLASS A (NASDAQ:CMCSA), COMCAST CORP-SPECIAL CL A (NASDAQ:CMCSK), RITE AID CORP (NYSE:RAD), MEDCO HEALTH SOLUTIONS INC (NYSE:MHS), PROSHARES ULTRASHORT S&P500 (AMEX:SDS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     DAL $-0.150 -1.47% 9,997,214 38.53% 8,087,858 31.17% 1,909,356 Abnormal
     CMCSA $-0.040 -0.16% 7,607,531 54.29% 6,140,426 43.82% 1,467,105 Abnormal
     CMCSK $-0.010 -0.03% 2,219,478 58.71% 1,557,022 41.19% 662,456 Abnormal
     RAD $-0.010 -0.93% 12,948,861 41.10% 9,225,487 29.28% 3,723,374 Abnormal
     MHS $-6.140 -9.53% 7,162,589 35.24% 6,013,069 29.58% 1,149,520 Abnormal
     SDS $-0.180 -0.87% 5,269,615 35.87% 4,385,347 29.85% 884,268 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Friday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DAL with 1,909,356 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.15000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
