May 19, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 2754 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2552 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2215 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. HUNTINGTON BANCSHARES INC (NASDAQ:HBAN), NATIONAL BANK OF GREECE-ADR (NYSE:NBG), XEROX CORP (NYSE:XRX), ORACLE CORP (NASDAQ:ORCL), INFORMATION SYSTEMS ASSOCIAT (OTC:IOSA), CALIBERT EXPLORATIONS LTD (OTCBB:CXLT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     HBAN $0.050 0.69% 7,204,811 44.94% 8,825,771 55.05% -1,620,960 Abnormal
     NBG $0.010 0.74% 667,392 15.01% 2,146,515 48.27% -1,479,123 Abnormal
     XRX $0.020 0.22% 2,059,518 20.54% 4,902,881 48.90% -2,843,363 Abnormal
     ORCL $0.680 2.01% 9,911,019 45.64% 11,723,856 53.98% -1,812,837 Abnormal
     IOSA $0.035 41.18% 157,515 6.71% 1,526,687 64.99% -1,369,172 Abnormal
     CXLT $0.010 4.35% 533,247 19.89% 1,907,369 71.14% -1,374,122 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Thursday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows HBAN with 1,620,960 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.05000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
