May 11, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2370 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1295 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4040 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. TEVA PHARMACEUTICAL-SP ADR (NASDAQ:TEVA), VENTAS INC (NYSE:VTR), RITE AID CORP (NYSE:RAD), DELTA AIR LINES INC (NYSE:DAL), WINDSTREAM CORP (NYSE:WIN), PDL BIOPHARMA INC (NASDAQ:PDLI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     TEVA $1.170 2.48% 7,273,475 54.78% 5,671,284 42.71% 1,602,191 13,694
     VTR $0.080 0.15% 1,891,018 54.85% 634,276 18.40% 1,256,742 157,093
     RAD $0.060 5.00% 8,374,433 58.38% 3,463,127 24.14% 4,911,306 818,551
     DAL $0.250 2.31% 5,389,957 37.41% 4,577,690 31.77% 812,267 32,491
     WIN $0.020 0.18% 2,955,919 58.32% 2,111,882 41.67% 844,037 422,019
     PDLI $0.100 1.63% 4,505,001 57.31% 3,355,356 42.69% 1,149,645 114,965
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows TEVA with a Net Buy Volume of 1,602,191 shares and a Friction Factor of 13,694 shares. That means that it takes 13,694 more shares of buying than selling to move TEVA higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
