April 27, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2695 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3204 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1909 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. REGENERON PHARMACEUTICALS (NASDAQ:REGN), SKY-MOBI LTD-SP ADR (NASDAQ:MOBI), CARDIOME PHARMA CORP (NASDAQ:CRME), TOWN SPORTS INTERNATIONAL (NASDAQ:CLUB), SHORETEL INC (NASDAQ:SHOR), SNAP INTERACTIVE INC (OTCBB:STVI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     REGN $15.160 29.08% 4,786,198 50.03% 4,446,327 46.48% 339,871 224
     MOBI $3.030 17.46% 953,584 51.23% 875,957 47.06% 77,627 256
     CRME $0.940 21.32% 665,419 56.00% 522,646 43.99% 142,773 1,519
     CLUB $1.140 21.31% 196,548 64.22% 108,593 35.48% 87,955 772
     SHOR $1.560 16.96% 1,416,157 52.42% 1,271,637 47.07% 144,520 926
     STVI $0.470 18.65% 245,746 29.34% 131,170 15.66% 114,576 2,438
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows REGN with a dollar gain Wednesday of $15.16000 and a Friction Factor of 224 shares. That means that it only took 224 more shares of buying than selling to move REGN higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
