April 25, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2681 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2278 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2924 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. RAMTRON INTERNATIONAL CORP (NASDAQ:RMTR), ACADIA PHARMACEUTICALS INC (NASDAQ:ACAD), HORIZON LINES INC-CL A (NYSE:HRZ), AMERICAN APPAREL INC (AMEX:APP), NATURALLY ADVANCED TECHNOLOG (OTCBB:NADVF), CLENERGEN CORP (OTC:CRGE). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     RMTR $0.560 23.43% 589,818 54.57% 490,116 45.35% 99,702 1,780
     ACAD $0.490 21.87% 1,572,177 54.61% 1,296,991 45.05% 275,186 5,616
     HRZ $0.270 19.01% 1,079,636 38.05% 938,540 33.08% 141,096 5,226
     APP $0.360 29.03% 1,476,501 33.48% 1,041,359 23.61% 435,142 12,087
     NADVF $0.450 16.67% 124,173 43.01% 108,172 37.46% 16,001 356
     CRGE $0.180 20.00% 61,516 54.36% 25,055 22.14% 36,461 2,026
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows RMTR with a dollar gain Monday of $0.56000 and a Friction Factor of 1,780 shares. That means that it only took 1,780 more shares of buying than selling to move RMTR higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
