April 21, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 2564 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3184 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1887 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. KONGZHONG CORP-ADR (NASDAQ:KONG), ALLOY STEEL INTERNATIONAL (OTC:AYSI), LUNA INNOVATIONS INC (NASDAQ:LUNA), KONINKLIJKE KPN NV - SP ADR (OTC:KKPNY), LML PAYMENT SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:LMLP), HNI CORP (NYSE:HNI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     KONG $-0.950 -10.34% 308,776 37.37% 517,085 62.58% -208,309 -2,193
     AYSI $-0.280 -16.97% 30,267 25.48% 84,316 70.97% -54,049 -1,930
     LUNA $-0.190 -8.26% 40,799 37.01% 69,435 62.99% -28,636 -1,507
     KKPNY $-1.460 -8.54% 51,671 11.64% 218,319 49.17% -166,648 -1,141
     LMLP $-0.260 -9.81% 178,150 32.34% 372,781 67.66% -194,631 -7,486
     HNI $-4.320 -14.05% 498,187 48.57% 522,809 50.97% -24,622 -57
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows KONG with a dollar loss Thursday of $-0.95000 and a Friction Factor of -2,193 shares. That means that it only took 2,193 more shares of selling than buying to move KONG lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
