April 18, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2485 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1209 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4082 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. LAS VEGAS SANDS CORP (NYSE:LVS), BAKER HUGHES INC (NYSE:BHI), STAPLES INC (NASDAQ:SPLS), A123 SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:AONE), ELITE PHARMACEUTICALS INC (OTC:ELTP), MELCO CROWN ENTERTAINME-ADR (NASDAQ:MPEL). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     LVS $1.710 3.87% 10,188,062 44.24% 9,252,171 40.18% 935,891 5,473
     BHI $0.230 0.33% 5,076,641 61.42% 2,477,275 29.97% 2,599,366 113,016
     SPLS $0.120 0.61% 4,236,685 56.07% 3,270,900 43.29% 965,785 80,482
     AONE $0.540 9.77% 7,174,769 54.51% 5,962,735 45.31% 1,212,034 22,445
     ELTP $0.047 27.98% 9,511,905 59.79% 6,383,993 40.13% 3,127,912 665,513
     MPEL $0.460 4.99% 5,844,484 56.06% 4,568,602 43.82% 1,275,882 27,737
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows LVS with a Net Buy Volume of 935,891 shares and a Friction Factor of 5,473 shares. That means that it takes 5,473 more shares of buying than selling to move LVS higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
