April 6, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2522 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2757 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2340 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. BIOLASE TECHNOLOGY INC (NASDAQ:BLTI), ADVANCED BATTERY TECHNOLOGIE (NASDAQ:ABAT), SILICON MOTION TECHNOL-ADR (NASDAQ:SIMO), OPNEXT INC (NASDAQ:OPXT), SANTA FE GOLD CORP (OTCBB:SFEG), GELTECH SOLUTIONS INC (OTC:GLTC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     BLTI $1.040 21.49% 1,734,749 54.52% 1,404,566 44.15% 330,183 3,175
     ABAT $0.350 16.91% 6,765,854 53.88% 5,790,265 46.12% 975,589 27,874
     SIMO $1.590 20.10% 941,850 52.79% 839,227 47.04% 102,623 645
     OPXT $0.360 15.93% 1,571,855 51.24% 1,493,508 48.69% 78,347 2,176
     SFEG $0.180 16.36% 775,024 61.34% 454,669 35.99% 320,355 17,798
     GLTC $0.800 44.44% 112,919 64.66% 57,722 33.05% 55,197 690
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BLTI with a dollar gain Wednesday of $1.04000 and a Friction Factor of 3,175 shares. That means that it only took 3,175 more shares of buying than selling to move BLTI higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
