March 28, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2594 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2207 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3361 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. NOKIA CORP-SPON ADR (NYSE:NOK), SPRINT NEXTEL CORP (NYSE:S), ADVANCED CELL TECHNOLOGY INC (OTC:ACTC), 3DICON CORP (OTCBB:TDCP), CURRENCYSHARES EURO TRUST (AMEX:FXE), GLOBAL HEALTH VENTURES INC (OTCBB:GHLV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction NOK $0.380 4.55% 15,438,077 49.86% 13,516,948 43.65% 1,921,129 50,556 S $0.100 2.14% 31,789,835 47.79% 28,389,816 42.68% 3,400,019 340,002 ACTC $0.014 8.11% 9,245,212 55.82% 6,800,573 41.06% 2,444,639 1,810,844 TDCP $0.015 29.03% 16,357,610 55.03% 13,299,154 44.74% 3,058,456 1,998,991 FXE $0.350 0.25% 2,852,220 79.53% 746,414 20.81% 2,105,806 60,166 GHLV $0.020 30.97% 4,640,769 75.36% 1,470,908 23.89% 3,169,861 1,584,931Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows NOK with a Net Buy Volume of 1,921,129 shares and a Friction Factor of 50,556 shares. That means that it takes 50,556 more shares of buying than selling to move NOK higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
