March 28, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2594 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2207 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3361 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. CRYPTOLOGIC LTD (NASDAQ:CRYP), TRANSWITCH CORP (NASDAQ:TXCC), RURAL/METRO CORP (NASDAQ:RURL), OCEAN BIO-CHEM INC (NASDAQ:OBCI), MARSHALL EDWARDS INC (NASDAQ:MSHL), ADA-ES INC (NASDAQ:ADES). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     CRYP $0.550 34.81% 1,445,936 57.75% 1,056,510 42.19% 389,426 7,080
     TXCC $1.090 33.54% 1,544,649 55.44% 1,182,473 42.44% 362,176 3,323
     RURL $4.500 35.86% 4,285,864 50.68% 4,147,389 49.04% 138,475 308
     OBCI $0.940 43.72% 1,214,566 49.60% 1,211,557 49.48% 3,009 32
     MSHL $0.660 47.48% 495,601 53.26% 434,464 46.69% 61,137 926
     ADES $4.550 23.30% 167,966 52.04% 151,399 46.90% 16,567 36
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CRYP with a dollar gain Monday of $0.55000 and a Friction Factor of 7,080 shares. That means that it only took 7,080 more shares of buying than selling to move CRYP higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
