March 22, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 2540 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2143 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3009 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Tuesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. FINANCIAL SELECT SECTOR SPDR (NYSE:XLF), POWERSHARES QQQ NASDAQ 100 (NASDAQ:QQQQ), NOKIA CORP-SPON ADR (NYSE:NOK), BANK OF AMERICA CORP (NYSE:BAC), GENERAL ELECTRIC CO (NYSE:GE), SPDR S&P RETAIL ETF (NYSE:XRT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction

     QQQQ $-0.060 -0.11% 16,026,774 45.39% 18,983,806 53.76% -2,957,032 -492,839
     NOK $-0.020 -0.24% 5,534,850 38.64% 7,856,413 54.84% -2,321,563 -1,160,782
     BAC $-0.170 -1.21% 30,588,857 41.69% 37,414,907 51.00% -6,826,050 -401,532
     GE $-0.230 -1.17% 19,788,974 42.66% 21,920,408 47.26% -2,131,434 -92,671
     XRT $-0.320 -0.66% 4,679,509 37.95% 7,353,918 59.63% -2,674,409 -83,575
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLF down $-0.06000 with a Friction Factor of -905,312 and a Net Volume of -5,431,873. That means that it takes 905,312 more shares of selling than buying to drop XLF by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
