March 21, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2265 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4155 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1395 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. VISTA GOLD CORP (AMEX:VGZ), CORE MOLDING TECHNOLOGIES IN (AMEX:CMT), PRANA BIOTECHNOLOGY LTD-ADR (NASDAQ:PRAN), GLOBALSTAR INC (NASDAQ:GSAT), URANERZ ENERGY CORP (AMEX:URZ), UR-ENERGY INC (AMEX:URG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     VGZ $0.620 19.14% 806,919 59.99% 433,350 32.22% 373,569 6,025
     CMT $1.420 23.28% 47,799 44.69% 45,762 42.78% 2,037 14
     PRAN $1.230 83.67% 4,849,058 53.91% 4,112,720 45.72% 736,338 5,986
     GSAT $0.280 26.67% 1,577,991 52.68% 1,414,923 47.24% 163,068 5,824
     URZ $0.790 25.48% 2,859,539 49.10% 2,532,995 43.49% 326,544 4,133
     URG $0.360 21.18% 3,543,970 50.43% 3,190,404 45.40% 353,566 9,821
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows VGZ with a dollar gain Monday of $0.62000 and a Friction Factor of 6,025 shares. That means that it only took 6,025 more shares of buying than selling to move VGZ higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
