March 17, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 2796 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3117 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1886 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. MINERA ANDES INC (OTCBB:MNEAF), COFFEE HOLDING CO INC (AMEX:JVA), THERAGENICS CORP (NYSE:TGX), SWS GROUP INC (NYSE:SWS), FLOTEK INDUSTRIES INC (NYSE:FTK), CHINA ARMCO METALS INC (AMEX:CNAM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     MNEAF $0.460 20.26% 366,660 63.54% 209,865 36.37% 156,795 3,409
     JVA $1.550 34.83% 659,654 58.65% 443,955 39.47% 215,699 1,392
     TGX $0.430 27.04% 1,677,095 47.73% 1,524,303 43.38% 152,792 3,553
     SWS $1.190 24.14% 722,377 48.98% 608,099 41.23% 114,278 960
     FTK $1.600 30.36% 3,352,882 54.47% 2,752,124 44.71% 600,758 3,755
     CNAM $0.540 22.98% 349,617 56.05% 274,177 43.95% 75,440 1,397
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MNEAF with a dollar gain Thursday of $0.46000 and a Friction Factor of 3,409 shares. That means that it only took 3,409 more shares of buying than selling to move MNEAF higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
