March 11, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2668 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2592 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2324 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. ARGENTEX MINING CORP (OTCBB:AGXM), LMI AEROSPACE INC (NASDAQ:LMIA), 99 CENTS ONLY STORES (NYSE:NDN), ANIKA THERAPEUTICS INC (NASDAQ:ANIK), CHINA SHEN ZHOU MINING & RES (AMEX:SHZ), SENTRY PETROLEUM LTD (OTCBB:SPLM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     AGXM $0.160 15.38% 243,083 66.00% 124,245 33.73% 118,838 7,427
     LMIA $2.270 13.24% 113,326 57.12% 84,069 42.37% 29,257 129
     NDN $2.920 17.51% 5,988,332 49.55% 5,372,484 44.46% 615,848 2,109
     ANIK $1.590 16.53% 608,459 50.59% 564,542 46.94% 43,917 276
     SHZ $0.620 17.56% 2,980,992 52.41% 2,582,180 45.40% 398,812 6,432
     SPLM $0.690 24.64% 396,115 53.93% 335,641 45.70% 60,474 876
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AGXM with a dollar gain Friday of $0.16000 and a Friction Factor of 7,427 shares. That means that it only took 7,427 more shares of buying than selling to move AGXM higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
