March 10, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 2144 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1007 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4619 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. FUELCELL ENERGY INC (NASDAQ:FCEL), WAL-MART STORES INC (NYSE:WMT), TCF FINANCIAL CORP (NYSE:TCB), SPRINT NEXTEL CORP (NYSE:S), DIREXION DAILY FINL BEAR 3X (NYSE:FAZ), PRIME SUN POWER INC (OTCBB:PSPW). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     FCEL $0.070 3.91% 2,669,052 42.32% 3,631,140 57.57% -962,088 Abnormal
     WMT $0.190 0.36% 7,669,204 42.12% 8,467,109 46.50% -797,905 Abnormal
     TCB $0.070 0.45% 7,991,217 37.60% 9,909,795 46.63% -1,918,578 Abnormal
     S $0.220 4.68% 47,613,138 43.19% 50,857,621 46.13% -3,244,483 Abnormal
     FAZ $2.210 5.67% 7,876,495 47.06% 8,839,214 52.81% -962,719 Abnormal
     PSPW $0.040 11.76% 181,108 12.53% 911,743 63.10% -730,635 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Thursday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows FCEL with 962,088 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.07000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
