March 9, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2575 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2182 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2965 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. CHENIERE ENERGY INC (AMEX:LNG), PRESSTEK INC (NASDAQ:PRST), CERADYNE INC (NASDAQ:CRDN), CATALYST HEALTH SOLUTIONS IN (NASDAQ:CHSI), POWERSECURE INTERNATIONAL IN (NASDAQ:POWR), CHINA SKY ONE MEDICAL INC (NASDAQ:CSKI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     LNG $1.130 18.08% 10,629,486 52.67% 9,186,284 45.52% 1,443,202 12,772
     PRST $0.390 16.81% 249,382 64.94% 134,534 35.03% 114,848 2,945
     CRDN $7.350 18.91% 735,977 52.67% 655,297 46.90% 80,680 110
     CHSI $7.330 16.46% 746,342 51.96% 687,971 47.89% 58,371 80
     POWR $1.520 20.82% 719,886 51.58% 633,421 45.39% 86,465 569
     CSKI $1.040 22.27% 777,411 59.93% 516,128 39.79% 261,283 2,512
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows LNG with a dollar gain Wednesday of $1.13000 and a Friction Factor of 12,772 shares. That means that it only took 12,772 more shares of buying than selling to move LNG higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
